Bridal Isle
One of the first items to check off the planning list is purchasing the wedding dress. Bridal Isle in Loomis is the best place to start to find the perfect bride’s dress and attire for the entire wedding party, including mother’s gowns and flower girl dresses.

The specialty store expanded in 2022 and now takes up nearly half the block in downtown Loomis. The expansion includes more space for mothers’ dresses and alterations.
Although located in a small town, brides-to-be will feel like they are stepping into a New York City dress shop when they walk inside. The store features several stations (dressing rooms, chairs, mirrors) for brides to bring friends and family to help them choose their dresses.
The store carries a variety of styles of dresses in all sizes, including gowns in plus sizes ranging from size 18-28. In addition to wedding dresses, Bridal Isle also sells bridesmaid dresses and accessories and offers suit rentals for gentlemen.

Churches
If your wedding guest list has 25 or 400 people, Phelps County churches and wedding venues can accommodate your wishes.
Many weddings take place each year at the Scandinavian Immanuel Lutheran Church at the Nebraska Prairie Museum. The church is open year-round for weddings, baptisms or gatherings. The main sanctuary will fit 50+ people. Attached to the main sanctuary is a small gathering space with tables and chairs.
Phelps County is also home to 25 churches of all sizes and denominations. From traditional older churches to modern-style churches, there’s one that will be sure to fit each bride’s desires.

Gardens on Q
Reception Venues
Gardens on Q is located north of Holdrege and is a beautiful location for an outdoor wedding and/or reception. The charm and character of the elaborate grounds make the location truly exceptional. The property includes rural views, gorgeous gardens and a late 1800s Victorian-style home surrounded by fields of grain, grazing cattle and a rustic barn.
Bridesmaids can get dressed and ready for the wedding in the Victorian-style home filled with antique furniture. Once guests arrive, they will be beckoned to wander the maze of paths that wind peacefully through the many gardens. With hundreds of vintage-inspired string lights, old-fashioned lamp posts and more than 50 tiki torches, the ambiance will leave bridal parties and guests with an unforgettable memory.

Funk School Community Center – This old school building has been renovated into an event space. It has lots of charm and character with its old gym and brick exterior and is the perfect setting for a rustic wedding theme. Call (308) 991-2198 for reservations.
Holdrege City Auditorium – The auditorium is located conveniently in downtown Holdrege and also has lots of old-school charm with its wooden floors and high ceilings. Rental fees may be paid for chairs and tables to be set up. Call (308) 995-8681 for reservations.
Holdrege Country Club – This event space overlooks the beautiful 18-hole Holdrege golf course. The space can fit up to 220 guests. Bridal parties can cater food in and may use the club’s kitchen space for food prep. Call (308) 995-5744 for reservations.

Of course, brides and grooms will want to capture their special day with photographs and video. One of the state’s premiere wedding videographers and photographers hails from Loomis.
