Visit 37
In the early 1900s, the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles assigned license plate numbers to each of its 93 counties based on the number of registered vehicles in the county. Phelps County was given number 37. That number still remains on our license plates today, and many Nebraskans recognize Phelps County by that number. That’s how VISIT 37 was chosen for our Phelps County tourism site.
Phelps County is located in south-central Nebraska, just a 15-minute drive south of I-80 and along US Highway 6 & 34. The county seat is Holdrege, population 5,405. We are also home to Atlanta (pop. 131), Bertrand (pop. 738), Funk (pop. 194) and Loomis (pop. 377).
VISIT 37 and discover that The Sky is the Limit! We take pride in our communities and attractions and invite you to visit and discover new possibilities in our county.
