Each year, south-central Nebraska becomes a hub for one of nature’s most incredible phenomena —the annual spring bird migration. Whether you’re a seasoned birder, a photographer, or simply someone who enjoys the beauty of the natural world, Phelps County invites you to experience this awe-inspiring event.
The second annual Crepes & Cranes event at the Funk School Community Center will feature renowned wildlife photographer Michael Forsberg. The event will be from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, with Forsberg speaking at 9:45 a.m. A breakfast of crepes (aka pancakes) will be served. A free-will donation will be accepted for breakfast.
Phelps County is located in south-central Nebraska, just a 15-minute drive south of I-80 and along US Highway 6 & 34. The county seat is Holdrege, population 5,405. We are also home to Atlanta (pop. 131), Bertrand (pop. 738), Funk (pop. 194) and Loomis (pop. 377).
